Hey guys, just a quick post. It's Friday, which means it's a football night!! I love this time of year and having a kid in high school. I drop her off in the morning and see the guys wearing their football jerseys, and the cheerleaders in their outfits and man, it takes me right back to high school. The funny thing is it quickly became something the whole family is excited about. We all woke up this morning excited for the game tonight : ) As a side note, our high school coach has been coaching for 20 some years, and the opposing teams head coach played high school football with our teams head coach as his coach.
Changing subjects, Mitchell Canyon had a small fire Wednesday night. I headed out Thursday morning to see the damage. It was to the right of the main trail, and up Blackpoint trail. I accidentally ended up doing the entire Blackpoint loop (which is long and up over a pretty high ridge). I told myself to climb up the front until I felt the burn.....but just kept going because it was too pretty to stop. Not super smart considering Brian didn't know where I was, my phone died, and I had one water bottle, but it felt great! I'll do a post Monday with pictures.
Also, Thursday must have flipped some spider instinct switch because I had seen zero tarantulas so far this season, and I saw 3 Thursday morning. They stay underground until they are ready to come out and find a mate.....Thursday was the day I guess. I have lots of pictures of those, too.
Lastly, tomorrow is the big day! Moonlight on the Mountain! Save Mount Diablo's big dinner gala fundraiser. I'm so excited!! There's dinner, dancing, silent auction........the attire is party casual and you must wear flats...so today my mission is to figure out what party casual means, considering it's a gala, but also in the dirt.
Happy Friday, have a great weekend, and I promise a post with lots of pictures on Monday!
