No Matter What, Today was Epic!

85-90 degrees, mostly zero shade, 15.6 miles, a few thousand feet (around 4 thousand, dont have official elevation stats yet) of climbing .  No shame in that!!  At least we did not have the medi vac called out for us as some of the 13.1 runners did : )  It was a rough, rough day out there.  Congrats to all those who did finish!!
Full post to come.

  1. Definitely no shame in that, the heat was brutal out there and you made a sound decision, too. (I couldn't believe how many people were on the 13.1 course with NO water!!). Congrats on a tough 15.6 miles/4,000ft! You are inspiring :-)

    2. Ha, never quite sure if 2nd out of 2 actually counts but we were the oldest two ladies out there and I know I left nothing behind. I will be looking out for her next year ;-)
Great pics, btw (as always). I especially love #3 (your expression says it all!) and the ram carcass I'm sure that was a comforting sight ...
Don't know about you, but I am treating myself to some well earned chocolate today!

  3. You two were awesome out there! Alva is SO grateful to Brian for running ahead to the aid station for her. In all those pictures, there isn't a lick of shade. Next year I'll join you for the chance to redeem our DNFs!

    Epic is an understatement!
