I remember doing my first road race and how nervous I was. I remember doing our first adventure race, and how nervous we were. I remember doing our first trail run, and how nervous we were. I remember doing our first 10k, 12k, 25k, 30k, 13.1, 26.2, and our first attempt at a 50k....and how nervous we were each time.
It has been a while since I have ventured this far out of my comfort zone. I feel like I know how to "do" a race like the back of my hand - the training, packet pickups, timing chips, pinning numbers on, lining up, starting.....but this...this is all new territory!!
Yes, I am already nervous, but I'm equally excited, and looking forward to taking a baby step towards one of my long term goals, triathlon. It's the first step, the start of a new journey, and I can't wait to take it!

Wow - that's a little different! You are doing the duathlon? (Running and biking?) Should be fun! (Unless that mouse still owns your bedroom and you are still out on the sofa.)
ReplyDeleteHopefully we will see you at Bad Bass somewhere.
well, so far...the mouse lives another day : )
DeleteJasmin said she'd put us at the 1.5 mile aid station, but who knows...I'd be happy scrubby porta potties for a free race entry!! (but I didn't tell her that: )
