Back to Running w/the Beast!!

The dust is finally settling from the haze that was the past 2 months.  Between weeks of sickness rotating between our combined 6 kids, injuries, and round 2 of unemployment woes, the Beast and I have not seen much of each other.  We've gotten a few workouts together in, and she was all set to crew for us at Diablo (we know how that went), but that is about it!

Tomorrow, we run again!!  Moms gone wild on the trail! Her youngest is now on a bike, so she is jogger stroller free these days.  Mine is in training wheels and not trail ready.  I am only a TAD envious of her hands free running.  I can only imagine how much MORE speedy she will be.  I was already taking a beating, so it should be interesting : )

I am so excited to get back to our routine.  Having a running friend is really a special thing, they just "get it".  I can say things like "another toe nail came off yesterday, it was really cool", or "my right butt cheek has been spasming" and I don't get the strange looks I get when I share the same thoughts with non runner friends. Strange. In return, I do not bat an eye when she drops down to the sidewalk in the middle of the park to show me a new push-up variation she has learned. Just another morning with my running friend. To each other, we are totally normal : )

Looking forward to a 'normal' Thursday morning run.

    1. Emma is attacking her first trail 10k with the beast of a course that is Wildcat. Brian will run with her.
Myles, Sophie and I are doing the 5k, aka the "ladies" course...based on the shape of the elevation chart.
      : )
      How about you guys??

  2. I'm doing the half and I can't remember what Allen signed up for. He'll have to tell you himself. Congrats on your running buddy. Wish I had one. Even Kaya, the wonder dog, is not turning out to be the best running buddy as the weather heats up. She's all black and cannot handle more than a mile in the sunshine.

    1. You are such a mountain brute!! That is a tough half...I'm a bit worried about Em and the 10k, it's going to be tough for her, I know she'll get it done though.
The good thing about Kaya, the wonder dog, is that you can tell her anything and she'll never repeat it. You could most likely also show her your latest favorite workout moves w/o much reaction, too. My running buddy refuses to lick the salt off my legs, so that's where Kaya, the wonder dog, has her beat : )You get a wipe down, I dont'.

  3. I suspect Kaya is fine for my pace - Diane's pace is a bit too fast in the heat. I'll be doing the Half as well. According to Brazen, there is only 2200 feet of elevation (the 10K has nearly 1500 feet though) - I don't think this is really that tough of a course for the Half, but it's a tough 5K and 10K. Hopefully we'll see you all out there!
