Carrying On Amidst Exciting Times

Despite the excitement of this week, I have, through good planning and determination, managed to get in 3 workouts, 3 runs, and 3 spin sessions.  Today will make 4 workouts, runs, cycling....and Saturday will be run #5 for the week....and that is a very, very good week for me.  It used to be a normal week.  But the reality is right now it is a very exciting thing just to have pulled off what used to be normal.
For those of you who have been in the know about my IT band issues (no, I have not mentioned it here because i just wanted to work through it and get it fixed, then tell you all), this is the first week since the week before Diablo that it has not been hurting ( I have a feeling it could go back all the way before Napa w/the hip pain).  It was a major accomplishment to get through one 3 miler w/o pain afterwards....so to have gotten 3 runs in (all 3 milers, but I'm focused on the fact that I'm running, not worried about distance for now) is huge. They were all treadmill runs, and I am really suspecting that pushing the 5 year old solid brick of a son in the double jogger is no longer an option. I have also been rotating through old pairs/brands/styles of shoes to see if that makes a difference.  I have been foam rolling (have it on my workout room wall whiteboard as a regularly scheduled activity) like a champ, and Brian has also been taking a wooden rolling pin to my legs, which is extremely painful, but in a good way and I do feel "better" afterwards. There is a foam roller/myofacial release class at the end of the month Brian and I are taking in hopes of learning a few things.
Anyhow, I am pretty stoked about the 'fitness' side of things this week. Ticks, fire, bike tours, throwing up kids...no matter, mommas gonna get her workouts/runs/spinning in!!
(I forgot to mention I picked up the oldest early yesterday, she was throwing up at school)

  1. Glad to hear it's all working out and you are still finding time to do your fitness stuff! Wildcat should be fun (and not a scorcher!). I forget what you all are doing there - hopefully we'll see you.

  2. Hey B--2 questions: 1. What does "get it fixed" mean? 2. How's our puker today?

    1. Hey Mom -
Get it fixed means, or has meant, almost 3 weeks of rest, ice, IBP, foam rolling, stretching, and waiting for change, which came this week.
The Puker has not puked since she came home yesterday. She is tired, sore throat, and more irritable than usual, but no puke.
